They’ve been compared all season long. They’ve bounced between the #1 and #2 rankings as the top prospect for the 2010 NHL Draft. They faced each other in the OHL Playoffs. Collectors chose one or the other… or both! And now, this summer one of them will be chosen by the Edmonton Oilers to be the new face of the franchise.
Taylor Hall and the Windsor Spitfires defeated Tyler Seguin and the Plymouth Whalers in the 2009-10 OHL Playoffs. However, that does not mean that Hall will be selected first overall. With Edmonton owning the first overall choice, the ball is in their court. Will they select the local Alberta-boy in Hall or will they choose the Ontario-native Seguin. Either way, Boston is licking their lips because they’ll get to own who isn’t chosen and they don’t have to fret over the decision. As for Toronto Maple Leaf fans, getting Phil Kessel in the Boston trade for their first round draft choice was very helpful to the team. Losing the chance to acquire Hall or Seguin may end up being something that haunts them forever.
At this point in time, they’re can’t miss prospects. Will they be remembered in similar fashion to the 2004 NHL Entry Draft when Alexander Ovechkin and Evgeni Malkin were chosen with the first two picks? Collectors would love that outcome.

I wonder if the Oilers will kick themselves as time goes on for picking Hall over Sequin.
