Stanley Cup Playoffs Start Tonight!

The 2009-10 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs start tonight. Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins are the defending champions but this season it’s his arch-nemisis who may finally have the entire stage to himself.  Not content with individual awards, Alexander Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals are primed for the ultimate prize.

The Penguins remain in the hunt in the East along with Ryan Miller and the Sabres. Out west, odds are on the Chicago Blackhawks and the San Jose Sharks. Lower seeds who may surprise are the ever-competitive Red Wings as well as the Los Angeles Kings. If the Flyers can find some consistent goaltending, look for them to potentially pull off a surprise or two.

Sixteen teams. Only one winner will hoist the Holy Grail of hockey.

Why don’t we hear it for my chi town blackhawks huh! Up 2-0 on Philth-adelphia, and in addition those flyers are certainly not even in the rear view mirror. I was confident almost all season long i’d personally be observing chicago in the finals, simply to tough and also to seasoned of a organization. Furthermore i am going to take any chance i find to blast Philly!
