On September 22nd, Panini will begin its journey into hockey cards with the release of 2010-11 Certified Hockey. With the first Certified hockey set since 1997-98, this release will give collectors their first glimpse of a third hockey card company since the early 2000′s.
Each box of 2010-11 Panini Certified will contain:
- 4 Memorabilia or Autograph Cards (at least 1 Autograph)
- 1 Mirror Red Parallel (short-printed out of 250)
- 4 additional parallels or inserts (including Mirror Black 1/1s, Mirror Gold /25, and Mirror Ice memorabilia cards)
Insert sets will include:
- Big Men On Campus: Memorabilia cards containing swatches of young star players who played in the NCAA.
- Junior Legacy: Dual memorabilia or autographs of players who played in the CHL.
- Masked Marvels: Memorabilia cards of top NHL goalies featuring 2 pieces of memorabilia and an autograph.
- Certified Legends: Autographs of NHL hockey legends.
Rookie cards this season include top prospects like P.K. Subban, Nazem Kadri, and Zach Hamill. These cards will be numbered as low as 999. Rookie Redemptions will also be included for cards of players debuting early in the 2010-11 season. With any luck these could include top draft picks Taylor Hall and Tyler Seguin.
As an exciting twist, Panini has produced “Platinum Hot Boxes.” These are boxes in which all of the common cards have been replaced by exclusive, limited edition parallels!
2010-11 Panini Certified Hockey is available for pre-order from Canada Card World.
