Panini is once again bringing back memories.
Remember in the mid-90′s when there were many choices to make when buying a pack of hockey cards. Donruss always provided a nice mid-range product with a crisp design.
And now, in a hockey card season that will be full of product re-introductions, Panini is showing collectors the inside information on one of those returning products. 2010-11 Donruss Hockey has been in limbo for about 15 years but it’s about to emerge again with some interesting twists.
For the first time since the 1997-98 season, Donruss is returning to the hockey card market, including its throwback Donruss logo. Each box of 2010-11 Donruss Hockey should contain:
- 2 memorabilia or autograph cards
- 6 Rated Rookies
- 3 Boys of Winter
- 2 Ultimate Draft
- 1 Press Proof
- 1 Les Gardiens
- 1 Tough Times
- 1 Fans of the Game
Returning with the Donruss name are longtime inserts like Rated Rookies, Press Proof parallels, Les Gardiens, Elite, and Ice Kings inserts. Brand staples such as Fans of the Game are included as well. For those who like to mix it up, Donruss has included Tough Times inserts which honour the most memorable enforcers of the 1980s and Line of the Times memorabilia cards.
The Fans of the Game autograph lineup currently includes celebrity hockey fans such as Pamela Anderson, actor Michael Ontkean, and folk singer Stompin’ Tom Connors who is known for the song, ‘The Hockey Song’ aka ‘The Good Ole Hockey Game.’
2010-11 Donruss Hockey will be available for pre-order soon from Canada Card World.
